Globus European Highlights Tour
Our group of nine set off on this fast paced tour through Europe on April 14, 2016. Our tour director Steve referred to us as the "Magnificent Nine"; and I for one would have to agree. We really did have a magnificent group that enjoyed each other's company as we travelled through four different countries together.
Everyone in our group decided to leave a day before when the tour would start. This gave us time to adjust to the time change and to allow us a full day in London to see the sights. Our first business of order for some of us was to have "High Tea", while others were getting settled in their rooms. It was an early night for all.

We enjoyed a great breakfast at the hotel before heading out to explore London. We started off taking the tube to Westminster. Immediately upon exiting the tube station we were met by the incredible "Big Ben". What a sight! We made our way past the parliament buildings and then onto see the "London Eye". Our walk led us then to Buckingham Palace. The grounds were immaculate and the flowers so beautiful. Gold plated gates all around and seeing the guards in their red uniforms made it clear you were among Royalty.
We continued our walk to 10 Downing Street where the Prime Minister resides and the residence heavily guarded. We then made our way to Trafalgar Square where we met our tour guide and headed off to St. Paul’s Cathedral, followed by the Tower of London and Crown Jewels. The tour ended with a cruise down the Thames River with spectacular views.
The day finished with a group dinner at Tyburn the Wetherspoon Pub where many people in our group had their London Fish & Chips while others enjoyed traditional beef pie.

We leave jolly old London, England via Eurostar and head to Paris, France. The train ride is about 2.5 hrs. and we are fortunate to be in a brand new train.
Upon our arrival in Paris, we are met by our Globus motor coach with driver Eddy and wait for our luggage to be delivered. We then depart the train station and away we go to our first stop being none other than the Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower surpasses my expectations and is in fact larger than what I expected. We go up to the top observatory and enjoy the sights of this magnificent city.
After our time at the Eiffel Tower, we head to our hotel Radisson Blu. We get settled in our rooms and then we went to dinner at a nearby French restaurant “Le Cardinal". Some of the people on our tour went on the excursion which included the Illumination drive. After seeing their photos of the Eiffel Tour at night, we knew I had to see this for ourselves. We hailed a cab and together with another couple we made it just in time to see the spectacular show at midnight. I will never forget my "Evening in Paris"!

We begin our day with a morning guided sightseeing tour of the Opera, Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Élysées and more. After the tour we then wandered through shops, stopping to have a croissant, macaroons and refreshments. Once back at the hotel it was time to shower and change for an unforgettable night at Moulin Rouge. What an amazing and entertaining 2 hour non-stop show!
